Providing adult social care in the digital age

“The imperative for businesses to develop the digital skills of their employees is now a matter of survival.”

Is your social care organisation prepared? Having a workforce with good digital skills enables your organisation to:-

  • Work smarter and more efficiently
  • Realise cost savings through service transformation
  • Provide full support to those accessing care services

In adult social care, research shows that many managers do not regard their workforce as having sufficient basic online skills or the skills to help others use digital technology.

How we can support the care sector

Our Digital Champions Network provides structured e-learning, mentoring and support. It turns staff into Digital Champions by building their digital skills and confidence and it empowers and inspires them to pass on their skills to help colleagues and clients.

In 2015 Skills for Care used the Network in a pilot project. 17 care providers took part, training over 30 staff as Digital Champions. The programme had a positive impact on the social care workforce, the Champions themselves and the organisations who took part.
