Volunteers Week

Volunteers Week 2024

Volunteers' Week celebrates the amazing contributions volunteers make to communities across the UK.

This annual celebration starts on the first Monday in June. It’s a chance to recognise, celebrate and thank the UK’s incredible volunteers for all they contribute to our local communities, the voluntary sector, and society as a whole.

Below are a small handful of our Digital Champions who volunteer in helping other folks improve their digital skills.

Kathryn Low Settlement - a Battersea based organisation that works to reduce poverty and isolation and bring the community together.

"Our Digital Champion volunteers do amazing work supporting our elder members with basic digital skills every week. They are a much valued part of our Tech-Up project".

Together in Hive -  all things volunteering in Portsmouth

Every volunteer is unique with their own gifts and skills to offer - and it's fabulous to have a volunteer that speaks several languages something the digital project values highly.
It means their support can be extended to many community members who struggle with English.

Communities Together East Anglie Digital Champions

Communities Together East Anglia - are committed to reducing loneliness and social isolation across East Anglia.

Here are Ken and Craig who give valuable Digital Champion support to their fellow members across Suffolk.

Mind in Bexley (SE London) - available for anyone struggling with their mental health or supporting someone who is.

This week we are celebrating amazing Digital Champion volunteers who, through Mind In Bexley work tirelessly to support people with learning difficulties, introducing them to speech to text software and transforming how learners communicate with friends and family.
