If you’re a charity or community group in West Cumbria and helping people with digital skills, then this free offer is for you.

Let’s Get Digital is a free training opportunity for your staff and volunteers that gives them the confidence and know-how to help people use the internet. The offer includes free e-learning and support via our Digital Champions Network and is funded by Capgemini as part of the Sellafield Social Impact Strategy, SiX.

How this offer helps people to be online

People need essential digital skills for everyday life. It helps them to access vital services and information, find work, stay connected and feel less isolated. But they like to learn from people they know and trust.

That’s where Digital Champions come in. Supporting staff and volunteers to become confident Digital Champions means that more local people can be helped with getting online.

A little bit more about the Digital Champions Network

Digital Unite’s Digital Champions Network is used by hundreds of organisations across the UK. It has structured courses and resources on how to help people with basic digital skills as well as a host of resources and guides for both Champions and learners.

Courses cover topics such as:

  • Supporting colleagues
  • Helping older people
  • Overcoming accessibility barriers
  • Using health services online
  • Online security, banking and money

Many of the courses are CPD certified, and all come with certificates and badges. They range from 5 minutes to an hour depending on the topic.

The free training and support will last 12 months from the date of joining. The training can be used at any time and there is no specified commitment as part of this funding.
