Our take on a new alliance to tackle digital inclusion.

The Connection Project is a new national alliance of organisations working together to make the UK a truly digital nation.

When you've been around as long as we have (did we mention it's our 30th Birthday this year?) you can become a bit jaded about new organisations with big solutions. But we think this is one to watch. It's got committed backing from some major organisations and it looks at digital inclusion as a fundamental ingredient, not just some nice icing on the cake.

Phase 1 is to define the problem - which is outlined in the Misconnection Report

Phase 2 (now) is to get feedback from the people who know and start finding solutions. That means hearing from people like YOU who work in digital inclusion.

If you're interested but pushed for time, here's a summary from our CEO Emma about the crucial points in the report

Here's a piece she wrote for them about why digital exclusion is is still a big problem 30 years on...

“Treat it as a systemic, structural issue that is folded into the way we run organisations and businesses. And how we design and deliver products and services across public and private sector. Not as a series of stop/start projects but as a continuum. Every workplace can be a digitally inclusive workplace, staffed by people who are trained, and given time, to see that the work they do has a digital inclusion component to it, lean into that and mitigate the risks of exclusion."

Most importantly, have a look at the report and see what you think.
