Four more housing providers have joined the Digital Champions Network for Housing (DCN4H) helping thousands more residents to get and stay online.

Amicus Horizon, Westward Housing, River Clyde Homes and Richmond Housing Partnership join the existing 10 Founder Partners in the DCN4H with the aim of developing their own armies of Digital Champions.

Having Digital Champions - people who can help others to use the internet - is a sustainable and cost-effective way for housing providers to improve digital skills among their residents and tenants. This is a major challenge facing all housing providers in light of the Government’s Welfare Reform.

Launched in September 2013 the DCN4H is Digital Unite’s innovative online platform to train and support Digital Champions in local communities. It provides access to practical online courses, extensive teaching resources and a moderated community forum. Furthermore the functionality behind the DCN4H enables each participating housing organisation to track activity and management data to measure and evaluate its impact and success.

To date over 220 Digital Champions have already registered on the Network and 93% of those who have completed their training said they would recommend or strongly recommend the course.
