Behaviour change was the crucial piece that our co-development partners wanted from our new public sector version of Inspire. Early days but it looks like it's working...
As our partners start to roll out Inspire, we're keeping a close eye on feedback, ready to pounce, tweak, amend and learn where necessary.
The first results are looking good. 😊 It's great that people enjoy the course and learn new things, but even better and more important, it's making people think about action and prompting them to change their behaviour. Because in the end, behavioural change at scale is what it's all about.
The chart below is particularly enthusing. At the end of the course, people are asked what actions they're likely to take following on from it. Most people are choosing 3+ actions. Here's the breakdown...
We believe one of the reasons Inspire galvanises people to action is that it makes the issue of digital inclusion relatable. Partly because it shows examples of how people in different roles in the public sector can weave inclusion into their role, and partly because it asks people to make a pledge to help someone with a specific skill in a specific way. The course suggests ways people can do this, but we ALL know people who could use a bit of help with digital skills and thinking like this can make the concept of digital exclusion real, relatable and something all of us can do something about.
There's more about Inspire here and about the work with do with Local Authorities. The version they're using was created in a co-devlopment process with 5 LAs and a university. They're currently starting to roll out the course across their organisations and we'll let you know how it goes!
