Happy to be sharing something I’ve itching to get off my desk for months and months because it is REALLY interesting and I hope it’s going to be REALLY useful!
A guide on: 📢 Social value commitments (SVCs) in the service of digital inclusion. 💡
Covering good things like:
💥 What are SVCs?
💫 How do they work?
🤷♀️ Who are they for – who delivers them, who benefits from them - how?
🤹🏼♀️ What have they got to do with digital inclusion and how might that benefit you?
✅ What digital inclusion impact can they support?
🟰 How are they measured?
👓 And lots of other things about it all.
We don’t know everything about everything, but we know enough about this to be able to share guidance, good practice and reflections.
We are now confident that SVCs have real potential to support local digital inclusion on a national scale, especially in a very tough funding environment for community-based DI work.
This about sharing what we've learnt so far in the hope that open conversation and shared good practice can amplify the benefits for everyone involved.
My special thanks to colleagues current and historic at both Capgemini and O2 Business (formerly Virgin Media O2 Business) who I have worked with over the years on SVC 'stuff', and through whom I have learned a lot.
In this guide there are two very detailed Q and As with both businesses which are fascinating, and highly informative - whether you're a supplier who needs to construct and deliver a SVC or a procurer looking for the right commitment - or indeed a community organisation who may become part of the delivery and beneficiary chain. Thank you for your candour and your time in supplying such fulsome answers.
