Rhondda Cynon Taf Library Service says Spring Online is not only an excellent way to help people get online but also encourages new library users to try its services.

RCT libraries have taken part in Spring Online for several years now. They’ve continued to provide events every year as they find many older people want to use the internet for shopping and socialising and see libraries as a place where they can get easy, free and helpful information and access to classes.

This year RCT Libraries are running eight separate events from Monday April 22 to Friday April 26 where people can find out how to make the most of their digital devices and download books, audio books and online magazines for free. You can find details here: www.rhondda-cynon-taf.gov.uk/libraries

Councillor Craig Middle, Rhondda Cynon Taf Cabinet Member for Social Justice, says: “If you have been thinking of learning more about the latest technology available at our libraries, now’s the time to do it - as our staff will be on hand to help you during Spring Online week.

Digital inclusion is important as it keeps people’s minds active, allows them to stay in touch with friends and family and to make new friends, either online or whilst at the library and can therefore help to combat the problem of social isolation. Getting as many people online as possible is vitally important as it will help them access a wide range of information and take the fear out of using computers.”

Libraries throughout the UK are holding taster sessions as part of Spring Online.  You can find your nearest event here.
